astora Offers Capacities in Haidach for two Storage Years
Kassel, 15 March 2019. On 21.03.2019 between 11:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. (CET) astora offers capacities on the trading platform PRISMA for the storage facility Haidach. The capacities for the storage years 2019/2020 and 2020/2021 will be allocated in a keyed procedure and comprise a total of 830 bundles with a working gas volume of 5,000 MWh each. The withdrawal capacity for the respective bundles consists of 1.98 MWh/h on a firm basis and 0.52 MWh/h on an interruptible basis. The injection capacity comprises 1.25 MWh/h on a firm basis and 1.25 MWh/h on an interruptible basis. In addition to the fee offered at the storage auction, the storage customer also has to pay a variable fee of 0.35 €/MWh based on the quantity injected. The storage product is subject to storage curves which may be exceeded free of charge up to the maximum booked capacity on best effort basis. The Haidach storage facility is connected to the Net Connect Germany (NCG) market area via the network operators Bayernets GmbH and, more recently, Open Grid Europe GmbH.
astora GmbH & Co. KG, based in Kassel, is part of the GAZPROM Germania Group and one of the largest natural gas storage operators in Europe. The company maintains one of the largest natural gas storage facilities in Western Europe at Rehden in Northern Germany, which has a working gas volume of more than four billion cubic metres. In addition, the storage company also markets capacities in the second largest storage facility in Central Europe, located in Haidach, Austria. In order to secure natural gas supplies to Europe, the company is currently completing the Jemgum natural gas storage facility on the German-Dutch border, which is already operative.
