astora markets capacities at the Haidach and Jemgum storage facilities
Kassel, 23 February 2017. astora has allocated capacities at the Haidach and Jemgum storage facilities via the “PRISMA Capacity Platform”. The capacities for the storage year 2017/2018, amounting to 420 bundles with a total working gas volume of around 5.8 TWh, were sold in their entirety.
“Marketing capacities for the first time via PRISMA was more than promising”, Andreas Renner, Managing Director of astora, explained. He was especially pleased with the technical options for utilisation offered by the newly used online platform. “As one of the largest providers of natural gas storage capacities in Europe, we want to be involved in further developing the platform beyond the pilot stage.”
astora GmbH & Co. KG, based in Kassel, Germany, is one of the largest natural gas storage operators in Europe. The company maintains one of the largest natural gas storage facilities in Western Europe at Rehden in Northern Germany, which has a working gas volume of more than four billion cubic metres. In addition, the storage company also holds capacities in the second largest storage facility in Central Europe, located in Haidach, Austria. In order to secure natural gas supplies to Europe, the company is currently developing the Jemgum natural gas storage facility on the German-Dutch border.
