astora markets capacities at the Haidach and Jemgum storage facilities
Kassel, 7. Februar 2018. On 1 February 2018 astora has successfully allocated capacities at the Jemgum gas storage facility for the period from 1 April 2018 to 1 April 2019. The offered working gas volume amounting to a total of 2.5 terawatt hours was sold in its entirety in three different key procedures via the PRISMA capacity platform.
In the keyed procedure that took place on 2 February 2018 for gas storage Haidach, a total of 1.1 terawatt hours of the offered 3.3 terawatt hours were placed on the market. As a reason for the restrictive participation, astora´s customers stated the uncertainty in connection with the commissioning of the MONACO pipeline due to the higher probability of interruptions regarding entry and exit capacities that had been announced for the network interconnection point at Haidach.
astora GmbH & Co. KG, based in Kassel, Germany, is one of the largest natural gas storage operators in Europe. The company maintains one of the largest natural gas storage facilities in Western Europe at Rehden in Northern Germany, which has a working gas volume of more than four billion cubic metres. In addition, the storage company also holds capacities in the second largest storage facility in Central Europe, located in Haidach, Austria. In order to secure natural gas supplies to Europe, the company is currently developing the Jemgum natural gas storage facility on the German-Dutch border.
