astora’s commitment to children in the Kassel region

Christmas donation to a farm for children and young people at Wesertor, Kassel

Kassel, 10 December 2014. astora is supporting a children and young people’s farm at Kassel (Kinder- und Jugendbauernhof e.V) this year by a Christmas donation of 5,000 euros. “We have been helping regional non-profit organisations for children’s and youth work at Christmas for several years now. Supporting children is an issue we deeply care about. So we are delighted our donation this year has been given to a farm for children and young people,” Andreas Renner, Managing Director of astora, explained. “What really impressed us is the project providing a place to allow children and young people to experience nature first-hand, and to playfully learn about environmental protection.”

The farm has been enabling children and young people, especially from the Wesertor neighbourhood in Kassel, to spend their free time in an agricultural setting with an ecological focus and educational supervision since 2005. A vegetable garden, various animals and a “witches’ kitchen” help the children and young people learn social skills and gain practical experience.
