Kassel, 25. September 2020: On 24 September 2020, astora allocated storage capacities for the Haidach storage facility both for the storage year 21/22 and for the storage years 21/22 and 22/23 on the PRISMA capacity platform. The auctions were oversubscribed several times. As a result, the capacity of the one-year product was fully marketed. In the procedure for the two-year product, however, the capacity was not fully allocated. astora intends to offer the remaining capacity of around 400 GWh in the short term in a further marketing procedure with a further lead time of 24 hours.
astora GmbH & Co. KG, based in Kassel, is part of the GAZPROM Germania Group and one of the largest natural gas storage operators in Europe. The company maintains one of the largest natural gas storage facilities in Western Europe at Rehden in Northern Germany, which has a working gas volume of about four billion cubic metres. In addition, the storage company also markets capacities in the second largest storage facility in Central Europe, located in Haidach, Austria.In order to secure natural gas supplies to Europe, astora also operates and markets 5/6 of the capacity in the Jemgum cavern storage facility on the German-Dutch border.
