Upgrade OF HIGHLY FLEXIBLE PRODUCT AT UGS HAIDACH

Kassel, 29 March 2021: The interruptible storage product offered last December at the Haidach storage facility is getting a completely new design - and offers customers even more flexibility.

The main innovation is the allocation - in future, astora will no longer specify the product as a bundle in the form of an auction but will only set the time frames and the prices for the individual product components. The customer independently compiles his storage product in the desired time periods ("pull" principle). This is achieved by first-come-first-served advertisements for interruptible capacities on the PRISMA platform. The customer can initially book an interruptible volume that he can then combine as needed with flexibly booking injection and withdrawal capacity (also interruptible).

This also results in different pricing than before. The injection and withdrawal capacities are only booked and paid for when they are actually needed. Volume, injection and withdrawal capacity can be booked at a fixed price. The prices for injection and withdrawal rate are guaranteed until 01.04.2022. Additional variable injection fees do not apply.

The product is available from 29.03.2021 and can be booked for the period from 01.04.2021 to 01.04.2022. When booking an interruptible volume for at least three months, the storage specification for interruptible storage capacity applies. For new customers, lead times must be taken into account. Contracts are nominated via the storage portal unless the customer already has a communication connection with astora or meets other conditions stated in the specification.

astora GmbH, based in Kassel, is part of the GAZPROM Germania Group and one of the largest natural gas storage operators in Europe. The company maintains one of the largest natural gas storage facilities in Western Europe at Rehden in Northern Germany, which has a working gas volume of about four billion cubic metres. In addition, the storage company also markets around one third of the capacity in the second largest storage facility in Central Europe, located in Haidach, Austria. In order to secure natural gas supplies to Europe, astora also operates and markets 5/6 of the capacity in the Jemgum cavern storage facility on the German-Dutch border.
