On Tuesday, 31.01.2023, a deflagration occurred at a flare at the natural gas storage facility in Rehden for reasons unknown so far. No people were injured and no effects on the environment could be determined.

The German government becomes the sole owner of the SEFE Group
With effect from 14 November 2022, the Federal Government becomes the sole owner of SEFE Securing Energy for Europe ("SEFE") and thus of astora. By way of a capital cut, the Federal Government first took over all shares in SEFE and provided the company with new share capital of 225 million euros.

Maintenance work with flare-off activity in Rehden
astora will perform maintenance works on the grounds of its Rehden natural gas storage facility on 12 September. Due to safety reasons, small amounts of natural gas must be flared off.

The principle already proven in Haidach and Jemgum is now also being transferred to the Rehden storage facility. Via the PRISMA platform, customers can book interruptible volume at any time from astora at a fixed price and, if required, flexibly design it with additional interruptible injection and withdrawal capacity.
