astora markets interruptible working gas volume at Rehden storage facility

Kassel, 14 February 2022: The principle already proven in Haidach and Jemgum is now also being transferred to the Rehden storage facility. Via the PRISMA platform, customers can book interruptible volume at any time from astora at a fixed price and, if required, flexibly design it with additional interruptible injection and withdrawal capacity.

In total, an interruptible working gas volume of 1 TWh is offered, with a minimum booking volume of 0.1 TWh. The product is available from 21.02.2022 and can be booked for the period from 01.03.2022 to 01.04.2023. Within this period, considering a minimum booking period of 90 days, the contract period can be freely selected, subject to compliance with the lead times.

Companies that are not yet registered and interested in participating are requested to submit an enquiry via PRISMA. Contracts will be nominated via the storage portal unless the customer already has a communication link with astora or meets other conditions stated in the specification. The storage specification "Interruptible Storage Capacity Rehden 22/23" relevant for the storage product can be found in the download area on www.astora.de.

In addition to the consideration of technical restrictions (e.g. characteristic curves), it should be noted that a variable fee is also levied on the injected quantity. To ensure planning security for the customer, the capacity prices for the bookable interruptible injection and withdrawal capacity as well as the variable fee are guaranteed until 01.04.2023.

astora GmbH, based in Kassel, is part of the SEFE Group and one of the largest natural gas storage operators in Europe. The company maintains one of the largest natural gas storage facilities in Western Europe at Rehden in Northern Germany, which has a working gas volume of about four billion cubic metres. In addition, the storage company also markets its capacity in the second largest storage facility in Central Europe, located in Haidach, Austria. In order to secure natural gas supplies to Europe, astora also operates and markets 5/6 of the capacity in the Jemgum cavern storage facility on the German-Dutch border.
