astora allocates remaining capacity in the Haidach storage facility for 23/24

Kassel, 17 February 2023: On 23 February 2023, astora will offer storage capacities for the storage year 23/24 on the capacity platform PRISMA.

The working gas volume totalling approx. 0.9 TWh will be offered in 10 bundles. In addition to the firm working gas volume of 92,164,533 kWh, each bundle includes interruptible injection and withdrawal capacity of 42,000 kWh/h each.

Companies that are not yet registered and interested in participating are requested to submit a request via the PRISMA platform, considering the registration deadline.

No variable fee will be charged for the storage product. The interruptible injection and withdrawal capacities are not subject to any storage curve restrictions.

The Haidach storage facility is currently connected to the Trading Hub Europe (THE) market area via the network operators bayernets GmbH (USP Haidach) and Open Grid Europe GmbH (Haiming 3-Haidach storage facility). Furthermore, via the booking of the short-distance transport at bayernets between the USP Haidach and Überackern 2, there is an additional connection of the storage facility Haidach to the control area East in Austria, whereby the corresponding regulations under REGENT have to be considered. During the storage year 2023/24, it is expected that there will also be a direct entry/exit possibility into the Penta West by means of the newly created grid connection point "Speicher Penta West". The contract documents are now available in the download area at www.astora.de.

astora GmbH, based in Kassel, is part of the SEFE Group and one of the largest natural gas storage operators in Europe. The company maintains one of the largest natural gas storage facilities in Western Europe at Rehden in Northern Germany, which has a working gas volume of about four billion cubic metres. In addition, the storage company also markets its capacity in the second largest storage facility in Central Europe, located in Haidach, Austria. In order to secure natural gas supplies to Europe, astora also operates and markets 5/6 of the capacity in the Jemgum cavern storage facility on the German-Dutch border.
