Highly flexible capacity at UGS Haidach for sale
Kassel, 10 December 2020: For 16.12.2020, 11:00 - 11:30 a.m., astora has scheduled a marketing procedure for the current storage year on PRISMA again. Six bundles at Haidach storage (market area Net Connect Germany) are available for sale featuring volume, injection and withdrawal rate on interruptible basis for the 1st quarter of 2021. The total working gas volume amounts to 144 GWh, the injection and withdrawal capacity to 1.5 GWh/h. The interruptible volume can be used up to a storage level of 95% - above that the storage customer is obliged to withdraw the gas. Currently the storage level is approx. 85%. The interruptible rates are not subject to any commercial storage curves and are treated subordinate to interruptible capacity already marketed. The interruption risks can be minimised by using the capacity utilisation view on astora's homepage.
In addition to the fixed storage fee according to the bid, a variable fee of 0.35 €/MWh on the injected quantity shall be paid. The nomination of the contracts is done via astora’s storage portal, unless the customer already has an existing communication with astora.
astora GmbH, based in Kassel, is part of the SEFE Group and one of the largest natural gas storage operators in Europe. The company maintains one of the largest natural gas storage facilities in Western Europe at Rehden in Northern Germany, which has a working gas volume of about four billion cubic metres. In addition, the storage company also markets its capacity in the second largest storage facility in Central Europe, located in Haidach, Austria. In order to secure natural gas supplies to Europe, astora also operates and markets 5/6 of the capacity in the Jemgum cavern storage facility on the German-Dutch border.
